A cloth collaboration between Merchant & Mills and Studio Faeger. Studio Faeger specialise in both residential and commercial spaces that put handmade in the spotlight. Victoria’s designs are bold and intentional yet delicate and meaningful to those who live in them.

The ‘Household’ collection is inspired by the past and designed for honest and easy living. Deeply practical, dependable, familiar and a touch nostalgic.

We designed this new base cloth with interiors in mind, think sofa toppers, cushions, upholstered footstalls and chairs, or curtains and blinds. You could also use this cloth for jackets, coats and bags. Tomato red and powder blue

What is Kelsch? A Kelsch is a traditional linen blend check, historically hand stitched into Victorian duvet covers and gifted to newlyweds in the 19th century as treasured household linens. Later made into ladies Pinnies with hand embroidered initials belonging to each owner.

  • 90% cotton / 10% linen.
  • 8.2oz / 277gsm.
  • 155 cm / 61 inches wide
  • Made in India.
  • Pattern repeat: vertical 2cm, horizontal 2.3cm
  • 16,000 martindale rubs (suitable for general domestic use).
  • Light fastness rating 5+.
  • Wash at 30 degrees with a non bio detergent. Do not tumble. Shake out and dry flat. Fabrics with a  linen content will always seize up after washing but as soon as you start to use/wear it the fibres relax again.
  • If you are using this fabric for curtains we recommend using a lining to prevent fading.
  • Never dry fabrics with linen in direct sunlight as the colour can bleach and fade.
